Description:
It derives its name because it was discovered in Brazil in 1959, though later it was also found in other countries, such as Tanzania and South Africa. Of Hydrothermal origin, it is probably the only gemstone containing Niobium (one of Earth's rarest elements) in its lattice. It has a very typical yellow colour, and although it is of medium hardness, it is often cut as a gem for its beauty. |
