Description:
It is named after the country it was discovered in 1968 in the famous Lapis Lazuli mine of Sar-E-Sang. Subsequently it has been said to have been found in Pamir near Lake Baikal, in Germany and other places, though the samples found cannot compete with those of the original deposit (yacimiento). It has a very complex composition, but only the rarely appearing clear and transparent samples of intense colour are cut into gems. |
