Description:
In the 1960's, at the Tucson Mineral Show, some small tourmaline crystals were put on sale which attracted the attention of experts which, in turn, led to the discovery of one of the rarest varieties of this group. Unfortunately, the discoverer died shortly after taking with him the necessary information to locate the only deposit known. Many years later, Dr. Romero, a famous Mexican collector, put together two expeditions to find the deposit again. This he managed to do, and he collected more specimens. But even so, it is still difficult to find a specimen like the one shown here.
