Description:
Mesolite belongs to the zeolite group, and in Scotland it is called "cotton-wool stone". It is usually coloutless or white, but can also be yellow. Like many other zeolites, they appear lining the insides of volcanic rock cavities, specially basalts. What particularly stands out is its tendency to form outstandingly beautiful spheric groupings of acicular crystals. |
