Description:
Pollucite is quite a rare mineral discovered in Italy, although lately more specimens are appearing. The name is derived from Pollux, son of Jupiter, in Greek mythology. It usually appears in small rounded crystals with facets barely defined. This is why this specimen is singular for its size. It is cut as a gem for collections.
