This calcium and magnesium calcite, when incorporating in its lattice small traces of chromium, forms a gem of a marvelous green colour. Good-sized crystals, much sought after by collectors, are rare and therefore attain considerable prices. On the other hand, the intensity of the green colour makes it hard to display its beauty in a mere photograph.
