Description:
Silicified Wood, or so-called Fossil Wood, is the result of a slow and complex process in which molecules of Agate substitute and reproduce with great precision the grain of the wood. When the process is completed, none of the original wood remains, and thus the term "fossil" is incorrect. This is a longitudinal cut of an Araucaria trunk. |
