This "present from the sun", which is the meaning of Heliodor, is one of the most beautiful varieties of Beryl. The most spectacular Heliodors in the world come from this Ukrainian location. Some specimens of this variety of beryl are believed to be of meteoric origin, and their attractive greenish yellow colour is attributed to the presence of Uranium in its lattice.
